Formula E Race Car
We have recently acquired the prototype Formula E race car, which is on permanent loan from the Formula E management.
We are very pleased to have started this relationship with Formula E and as the new generation of the FIA Formula E enters its second season of racing, the first fully electric powered car brings the very latest technology along with the promotion of clean energy and sustainability.
Formula E is a ground-breaking FIA single-seater championship and the world’s first fully electric racing series. The inaugural season began in Beijing in September 2014, ending in London in June 2015, with the series competing in 10 of the world’s leading cities. The championship sees 10 teams, each with two drivers, racing on temporary city-centre circuits to create a unique and exciting race series designed to appeal to a new generation of motorsport fans.
Major manufacturers such as Audi, Renault and Citroen are now taking part supplying power units and the technology that goes with it.
We feel It’s a great opportunity for our students to work on such an advanced vehicle in our fully equipped workshop at Silverstone, and as a result of the ongoing success we already have apprentices past and present working within this Global Formula.
Formula E aims to represent a vision for the future of the motor industry, serving as a framework for R&D around the electric vehicle, accelerating general interest in these cars and promoting clean energy and sustainability.
